Working as a website copywriter gives me the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse range of clients in sometimes unexpected industries. One of these is the New York State Berry Growers Association, who approached me this year about managing their communications program. First up: a stand-alone website that would give the organization a stronger online presence and make it easier for berry farmers to stay up-to-date on important news, and the berry-loving public to find participating New York State farms.
The resulting website, created in collaboration with Nashville-based graphic designer Lisa Dunn, is warm and rustic yet modern and clean. Members can now join or renew their membership online, plus use the site to stay updated on important industry trends. And consumers can visit the site for recipes and nutritional information, plus find a farm near them to purchase healthful local berries.
